The last development of this magnitude in New York was Rockefeller Center, completed 80 years ago. Hudson Yards is the biggest private real-estate development in U.S. When both phases are completed, in 2025, the development will encompass more than 18 million gross square feet of built space, with nearly 14 additional acres of open public space. Though specific design details have yet to be revealed, Western Yard will include additional residential, office, and retail space, as well as an elementary school. The first phase, Eastern Yard, is home to eight new buildings, including residential and commercial skyscrapers, public gardens, a massive shopping mall, and the Shed cultural center. The development is unfolding in two parts. Everything looked like it was perfectly displayed and organized-from the duvet to the placement of towels. All guest rooms have a view of either the river or the city line. I took an elevator to visit some of the suites. Guests also have the option of dining indoors or outdoors on the terrace when temperatures are warmer. While it was closed when I visited, I noticed its sleek design and could visibly imagine myself eating here and connecting with friends. In the lobby, concierges explained to visitors the map of the area, upcoming classes at the fitness center and the best things to do in the Big Apple. There’s also a lounge with fireplaces and comfy chairs, perfect for mingling with other guests or getting a little work done outside your room. I knew from the start that Equinox was a place that emphasized quality and service.
It was a peaceful quiet from the stressors of cars honking and people yelling. While handed a water bottle on a platter, I felt this wasn’t the typical hustle of New York City.

I was shown to the 25th-floor reception, with its open space and ceiling-high windows with views of the skyscrapers and Hudson River in the distance. Throughout my time visiting Equinox Hotel New York, I felt safe as guests were socially distant.
